In June 2023, Xiclo is piloting one of the first Reuse Systems for massive events in Colombia. Xiclo, together with Corona (AB InBev), Paramo and GIZ (ProUSAR), are offering returnable cups at Corona Sunsets, a sustainable event with 6.000 attendees. Our service will include 5.000 returnable cups, 20 return drop off points and a cleaning and sanitizing station to cover 7 drink bars and 6 restaurants throughout the whole 13 hour event. Santa Marta, the city where the event will take place, has a single-use plastic ban law, one of the first of its kind in Colombia. This law played an important roll to convince the decision makers to incorporate our reuse system. This will be a great opportunity to understand how much our users understand reuse practices and how committed they are to supporting more sustainable behavior.

Goal and Impact:

Our goal is to offer an upstream solution by reducing waste before it is created. This event will take place in a beach, next to the Caribbean Sea. That is why our reuse system is so important: we have to preserve our biodiversity and environments.
