Xiclo & Takami 2022 Pilot in Bogota was designed to prove the alternative of replacing single use packaging for food delivery service with a reusable / returnable solution using apps to trace each item through a unique ID in each of the bags and containers. The pilot proves the viability of inverse logistics at home or office, helping users jump into the system easily. We ran a users perception study, which showed their understanding and commitment, where experience improvements were equally important for them as sustainability. The pilot also proved the financial and operational viability, demonstrating the lessons, challenges and opportunities to scale. The pilot ran different phases, and helped develop the technology from beta to a go-to-market product. Takami is a Colombian Group of 15 brand restaurants, and more than 35 establishments, a great field and team to innovate, test and scale.
Goal and Impact:
To prove users acceptance of a packaging returnable solution for food delivery, managed by an app. To prove viable and sustainable operatively and economics of the project. To validate how inverse logistics at home/office can help users jump into the system.
