MIWA technology is installed at 3 Albert stores in the Czech Republic for pilot testing (Prague - Chodov, Prague - Nové Butovice, Ostrava - Nová Karolina). More than 80 dry products are sold to customers and reusable packaging is provided (or they can bring their own). Secondary packaging is reusable and provided by MIWA as well. More than 6 producers are on board and send their products to Albert in reusable capsules.

Goals and Impact:

MIWA's long term goal is to prevent production of single-use packaging waste and modernize logistics in retail. Compared to single-use packaging, MIWA lowers carbon footprint by 62 %, material footprint by 90 % and overall environmental impact by 71 %, according to a LCA study.
