Giant Food (a banner of Ahold Delhaize USA) launched an in-store Loop pilot at 10 stores in Washington DC in October 2022. Giant shoppers can experience the circular reuse platform in stores throughout the DC area, and choose from a selection of products in reusable packaging. When purchasing a Loop product, customers will simply pay a refundable deposit on the packaging and will be able to return their empty packaging at Loop drop-off points located at each participating Giant Food location. After the empty packaging is returned, it is professionally cleaned by Loop and refilled by the brands for reuse.  Giant's partnership with Loop forms part of the retailer's overall ambition to be a leader in sustainable grocery and make a positive environmental impact in the communities they serve.
